TIN Mexico (MX)
In Mexico, the TIN is called the “Clave en el Registro Federal de Contribuyentes (RFC)” and is issued by the Mexican Tax Administration Service and is applicable to Individuals or Entities.
To validate a tax identification number from Mexico, the TIN / RFC must be placed on top of it, which must obey the following format:
For Individuals (TIN)
The TIN / RFC assumes the following format:
• LLLLNNNNNNAAA (Total of 13 digits)
N identifies that it must be a numeric digit.
L identifies that it must be a letter.
A identifies that is must be alphanumeric digit (letter or numeric)
For Entities (TIN)
For Entities, the TIN /RFC assumes the following format:
• LLLNNNNNNAAA (Total of 12 digits)
N identifies that it must be a numeric digit.
L identifies that it must be a letter.
A identifies that is must be alphanumeric digit (letter or numeric)
